all around break problem

my breaks in the front when i hit the brakes and i skid (like on ice or wet roads) will make a knocking noise. Cant figured out what from. i checked everything for something lose but cant find anything. Now my back brakes are starting to lock and will thump when i start to go again. Like if im coming to a red light and it turns green before im completely stoped i'll step on the gas and the back brakes will thump/ knock hard once. I think its the brakes sticking then snapin lose how would i fix this? i was gonna replace them soon anyways...

are you hard on your brakes cause it sounds like your rotors are extremely warped in the front and now the drums are also

Weird.. If they're not warped, check for glazing. A little grease spot will make them do horrible things.

Well it only knocks in the front when i skid, like in winter and i hit ice or a slippy spot. they dont slide when i hit the breaks. I think it might be my ABS or something? but ill clean them with some brake cleaner.

The sound when you skid is your anti lock breaks.

The rear brakes though, I have the same problem. Sometimes when I come to a complete stop and then start again, the rear brake on the passenger side sticks for a second and then pops loose. It has only been happening since I got them done.

I'd take them back to the place I got them done at, but they're open the same hours I work, and they're about an hour drive away. I was hoping someone here might know a way to fix it myself.

Again, they never did this before I had this place replace my rear brakes and one rotor.
