2.4 coolant air bubbles...

I have a 97 GT (80k miles) with the 2.4, and today I made the mistake of changing the dexcool. I opened the rad drain plug, let all the antifreeze out, then started the car and ran it with the cap off while adding the fresh dexcool/distilled water.

It took a while to heat up and the coolant resevoit never gave me any bubbles. I ran it with the cap off in my driveway for about 1/2 hour, until the temp guage went over the half-way mark. Then I shut the car off and got a nice fountain out of the resevoir. The radiator fan came on, but didn't cool it down. (I'll be putting on a new thermostat before attempting to refill this again.)

I've read in other posts about an air bleeder on the engine because of a high-point that traps air, does anyone know where this air bleeder is at? I really don't want to fry a head gasket from a hot-spot caused by an air bubble.

Thanks!

I don't recall a bleeder on mine..being that the resevoir is at the highest point, i really don't think there is one..but don't quote me on that.
Wait..just checked, there is no bleeder ..like i said, the resevoir is at the highest point so there is no need for one. I remember doing mine awhile back..it's pretty straight forward

From what the dealership told me, there is a bleeder on the drivers side of my 2200. But whenever I do coolant work on my car, I always just leave the cap off while the car is running and I haven't had a problem yet.
