If you did your research, you would have seen it recirculates fuel vapor back into the engine, instead of it seeping out into the air.

DO NOT REMOVE IT!!

take a chill pill tree hugger, i was asking if it was bad for my car if it was missing, not the atmosphere

And yea... i knew it was something about, gases and because of some emissions bill past by congress or something in 1996 or something, i wasnt saying "teh Sunfires... (Tom), please tell me how to save the earth and flex your big forum muscles to impress the rest of the people browsing around" you are not a cool or better person for knowing a little more about a evap purge vavle then i do... i came here to ask a question which is EXACTLY what forums are for... i did research and found out what it does, and now i was wondering if its bad to remove, simple question... if it bothers you so much that people are asking legitiment questions on a forum then maybe you should take all of your knowledge and go sit on it somewhere and get mad when people ask about it, just keep it away from my threads

I swear man, a few people on hear are SO ANAL . . . . I dont understand why people get so upset over others asking questions on these forums....

anyways.... now that "teh Sunfire... (Tom)" has vented his anger in the form of capital letters which ARE OBVIOUSLY INTIMIDATING..... does anyone out there know whether or not ?

alright then, im off to find someone that knows a little less then I do to yell at and try to intimidate with my big burly capital letters! any help is appreciated greatly!

[Steven]

Holy blown out of proportion Batman ! Good lord Steve you sure took that the wrong way didn't you ? He answered your question and told you why its not a good idea to do it. So you get an answer you don't like and you get your panties in a twist and then come back and rant link a nut job that he attacked you when all he did was answer your question.

He never came off like a prick but YOU sure are. Look if you want people to answer you and help you then you can't take things the wrong way or soon no one will want to help you and then you'll be just another Jordan that the whole org rags on.

My advice, and you can take it or leave it, is to realize that this is just the Internet and you shouldn't let things you read for someone here get you all bent out of shape.

Chill man.

Of course, Jackalope is right. Steve overreacted, to say the least. But Steve's hypersensitivity may be due in part to how he perceives the way some of the members typically respond in the forums. It is not all that unusual for a poster to get flamed, intimidated or belittled by someone whose mother apparently didn't show him enough love when he was little. Whatever the reason, this kind of rude behavior shouldn't be tolerated, in my opinion. Negative or sarcastic remarks to a new member has the potential effect of ending all future communication with that member. Some people may think its funny to slam someone, especially a newbie. But it accomplishes nothing and only serves to harm the org. So in the future, I think it would be helpful for people to be especially careful in how they craft their language in their posts. I'm sure Tom meant no harm in his answer and was only trying to be helpful, but obviously Steve thought otherwise. If Steve had never seen any sort of attempted intimidation on the org before, he probably wouldn't have been so sensitive and overreacted the way he did.

Just my two cents.

i think the one closer to being right is Lees04Cav....

anyways... i asked if its bad for my car if it was removed.... not for the environment, all he said was not to remove it

i am not angry, its just rediculous that people have to walk on thin ice to make a post...

Don't be scared just don't take things to the worst upon the first time reading it. Just cause it may seem smart doesn't mean it was ment that way. Its hard to infer sarcasm on line and all too easy to take things the wrong way. Some people just have a wrye sence of humor or a snappy comeback disposition but that doesn't mean it was meant o be smart.

What happens if I take this part out? You will throw a cel. Your fuel milage will go down. You release harmful hydrocarbons into the air. It could possibly put excessive pressure on you evap system (not able to vent properly).
Will it damage your engine? No.

And the main reason I put DO NOT REMOVE in caps is because you didn't heed my advice in the first post.
"It's a good thing to have"
but you still asked a question about getting rid of it after I said it's a good thing.
Therefore emphasisng my post the second time around.

Take this post anyway you want, cause all i've done is try to help you.

Steven Malagon, I would like to thank you for making me laugh.

Just my opinion, the environment is more important than your Sunfire, my Sunfire and every other car on this earth. People don't care because they figure they'll be dead before the earth is @!#$, but that's pretty selfish isn't it? We're @!#$ting in the bed and somebody's going to have to lie in it.
