Shutting Off

My engine loses throttle after running for about 1 hr. Its like someone took the pedal away. As I'm driving at 65mph the car suddenly bogs and then the rpm's start to go down, Giving it more throttle does do anything. I can keep it running so long as I down shift threw the gears. But it eventually die out. It will start right back up but only last about 20 seconds and die. If I give it gas it dies right out. After about 15 minutes it will start and go agian. Now once I this problem starts up it stays for a while. It took me 1 1/2hrs to go 2 miles. Today when it started the 4th time it did this I got pissed off I was down shifting threw the gears to try and get more distance to pull over agian, I down shifted into 1 st gear and the throttle came back and engine reved up. I drove the last 1mile home. ANY IDEAS PLZ LET ME KNOW

You have to use an OBD-II code reader, the paperclip thing doesn't work on 96 and up vehicles.

Sounds more like your cat is plugged. It gives the exact symptons you said, when hotter it runs worse, if you let it sit and cool off, then go again it does go.

Yeah you need to check exhaust backpressure with the engine runing, and at like 2000RPM.
