How do I get CEL Codes from 2000 Sunfire

Hi,

I am able to get my OBD codes from my neon by switching the ignition on off on off on, then the check engine light would blink and tell me the codes, am i able to do the samething on a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire ? If not would I need an OBD reader/scanner? What type would I need ODB I or ODB II?

you need an obdII scanner.

Autozone, Discount Auto Parts, any of those places will read codes for free. Otherwise you need a scanner.
