why do u need to change it? unles u hit an assload of miles then there is no need to change it. but what you might want to try doing is losen one side then take the other side off so that all the fluid drains to one side.

I hear ya, mine just rolled 76,000 & I am going to get mine changed! Is there a diagram on how to do it? I saw the one's on the older Cav's but nothing on the 2000+ Cav's. Also is there a filter in there to change also?

i have 97 z24 with 86k on mine and i have done 3 trans services already.....doesnt hurt it unless your fluid is burnt and you have a crap load of miles on it and then decide to change it may hurt because all the internal trans debris is being flushed out which is actually holding the trans together....i have seen it before where the trans will shift fine and then the customer request a trans service, once doing the service the trans slips when changing gears....some do get worse some dont....just letting you know what i have seen

but just drop the pan and get something to catch it.....

B&M makes a retrofit plug for the pan in case you need to drain it again. I got mine from Northern Auto. Good luck.
