OK, 1995 Sunfire. 3 speed auto. I have to really use a lot of force to get it to go into park. Where is the shifter adjustment? I know or think it is just the adjustment because the indicator light for park does not come on unless you give it a good shove. Also it will not start unless in neutral.

Sound like you shifting linkage is either bent or has alot of road grime in it. Or Maybe youre transmission is needing servicing.
I do not think it is bent, dirty, maybe, I will check it out
