Hey friend of mine is worried about the fact that he may of over done his engine, we took the plate off the top of the engine to get to the spark plugs and his rubber boots were kinda melted ???? IS HE SCREWED? or could he maybe be okay ?? Car wont start it turns over but it acts like its not getting gas and it makes a popping noise from the throttle body when he tries to start it for more than 3sec??? WHAT DO WE DO?? Everything else is working on the car electrically as far as we can tell

Not necessarily, you have to determine if the problem is ignition or fuel. Spray some starter fluid in the throttle body to see if it will start. If it does, ignition is probably okay, if not check for spark. Always have a fire extinguisher handy and good luck.

If you have the LD9 it involves flipping the ignition cover, bolting it down through the hole with the ground wire, and attaching old plug wires, I thnk. The procedure is in the Hayne's manual but I'm at work. Maybe someone else will have it for you. Good luck.

How do you melt spark plugs? I didn't even know that could happen!

Did you replace the plugs and boots before trying it again?
