wheel bearing (hub) question

I just put in a new hub assembly cuz the wheel bearing went to crap, I had to beat the piss out of the hub to get it free as it was rusty as hell inside the stearing assembly where the hub goes into. My question is ....should there not be a rear seal behind the hub??? cuz I sure didnt see one when I pulled the hub nor, did I see where it would potentially go.... ALSO my Chilson says nothing about a seal OH its a 01 Z

Its all about the pain...The Jewelry and Ink are just souvinirs

I didn't have one on my '02 Z either, and I replaced both fronts at the same time.

no seal.

The seal you are thinking about would be at the transmission where the axle goes in.

It's a dust/water seal. Keeps the road grime off the new bearing. Shoulda got one with your bearing.
