Battery light
Monday, March 13, 2006 4:41 PM
I haven't had a chance to test anything yet, but my battery light is coming on below 3000rpms. The battery is brand new and it's strong. I was wondering if the alternator and the regulator were all one piece on the 2.2. I think I have to replace something...

sounds like the alternator......and yes the regulator is part of the alternator....start the car and take a volt meter across the battery terminals and see if its charging....if the voltage is at like 12.6v or lower then its not charging...and if its 13.5-14.5v then it is charging and you may have another issue....but i would bet its the alternator

Ok, I put another alternator on this morning after work. It's charging at 14.7v now and the light is gone. Cool, this one is less noisy too...
