I'm frustrated to the point of unbelief! I've changed (properly gapped) spark plugs, changed out the wires, and replaced distribution cap & rotor. No change whatsoever. It only misfires while driving NEVER idle. It sputters then misfires and I don't know what it could be.,,if you're wondering, I've also changed the fuel filter and let me add - I have poor gas mileage also.
Please help, what am I overlooking and not doing?
are the plugs Bosch by any chance?? if so toss them n get AC Delco Plats
distributor cap and rotor? the 2.2ohv doesnt have either. but are you talking about it throwing a CEL and a misfire in cylinder #x code?? i had that happen and changed out every part of the ignition, and it still didnt work. It ended up being a clogged injector (even did a sound check on them, and they were still clicking). That was in cylinder #1, now after getting the injectors changed about 2 months ago, im getting that code again...but in cylinder #4.
Sorry, I forgot to mention...it's an 88 Ford Taurus
