OK i have an 03 cavalier auto tranny it only has 30k miles and i have been noticing a clicking sound coming from the front end. It does this when i go in a straight line or when i turn. But it only does it at low speeds. First i thought it was the brakes since the noise stops when brakes are applied. However i have read in the Haynes repair manual that it could be the inner CV joints. They arent cracked or leaking grease. I checked the bushings and they look ok, i have a slight groove in the rotor but its not bad. I've read posts with similair problems. I was just wondering if its normal for the CV joint go go out so early and will the noise get worse before it completely messes up. Also its under warranty but i dont know if the factory will fix it since i lowered the car and put rims on it...i know they will get out of it if they can. Its also hard to determine which side the noise is coming from. Any insight will be appreciatted.
If it's under warranty then try the dealership first, they might fix it for free. Does it get worse when you turn to 1 side, if it does it could be a wheel bearing.
You can't outrun the radio.
no i havent noticed it getting any worse in the turns.
