Hello fellow members i have a big problem. The screw thats on the end of the fuel line that goes into the fuel filter is stripped, not only that its very very rusted how can i get the filter off and do i have to replace the fuel line becuase of the stripped screw??? arghhhhhhh help me plz

how do u know if its stripped if its so rusted u cant get it off?.. try some PB penetrating spray stuff let it sit for lik 5 min and go at it

Well if you do need to cut it off just be sure to get fuel injection rubber hose and fuel injection style hose clamps. I would also recommend inserting the old steel line into the rubber hose about 4 to 6 inches and double clamping it just be be sure. Or if the original line isn't rusted too, too badly you can always go with a compression fitting and new line that would just replace the rusted and destroyed parts. Ok im not sure if i explaind myslef that well but i will try againe ok there is the in side of the filter and the out side i am talking about the out side. u know the sie that u need a 5/8 wrench to un screw the bolt so you can pull the filer off well that little bolt/screw that u use the 5/8 wrench on is rusted really bad inside the filter, u guys getting me yet? and that same screw is stripped so i cant remove the filter and even if i get it off i think i would have to replace the whole fuel line cause all fuel filters for our cars are the screw in kind and u coudnt use rubber hoses

At Advance Auto and Pep Boys they sell filters that are just like yours but that have a hose barb on the end. That way yes you can replace it with a hose. But like I said is there enough good line left for a compression fitting ? if so just cut it up to the good line use the compression fitting and they replace the bad line with new line from Pep Boys or Advance.
