Ok heres whats going on. I have a 97 2.4 and it seems like my car is trying to choke it self out. At low rpms it trys to stall like im talking when i try to take off 1000 -1500 rpms. and when im cruzin it does the same thing its like its chugging. I changed out the spark plugs and the coil packs. Any info would be awsome.

How does it idle? Is it just a problem when giving the car gas?
i would change the fuel filter.. cost about $9 and is fairly simple to install, could very well be your problem.
