not sure how cold it is there, fluid might be frozen in the lines...

lines could be clogged too...

Frozen in the lines I'd bet. When it getts above freezing get as much of it out as you can and put in the winter stuff which is good to much lower temps.

definitely clogged lines...happens to me all the time....I use a hairdryer to melt the little bit of ice in there and its fine for the rest of the day...

I use -45* stuff in my car and it still clogs up with water from warm days...it rains here one day and snows the next...water gets inside the nozzle and freezes...sometimes a small needle or a wire will work too but the hairdryer always does the trick....

The prob is not the fluid freezing...its the drops of water that get in there from rain or from the wet roads....it freezes overnight and blocks the ports...

same thing happened to me today. I usually just use my warm hands to melt the tips of the spray point on the wiper blade. once I get a little fluid coming out it clears itself right up. you can always try the warm hand thing as a first option as you will always have your hands with you. can't say the same for a hairdryer. :-)

My '02 Sunfire, which I bought used less than two months ago, had a problem with delivery of washer fluid. The tubing which delivers the fluid from the reservoir is routed up in front of the battery and is held in place by clips to the lip of the fender as it proceeds toward the firewall.
It seems that one of the clips near the front came loose and allowed the rigid plastic tubing to chafe against the battery. This condition existed for a long enough period of time that a hole was worn in the tubing. The first time I needed to use the windshield washer, nothing happened except pump noise. I thought the reservoir was empty so I filled it, and, with the hood still propped open, I operated the washer. I saw blue foam (!) appearing on the front of the battery case, which is how I discovered the hole in the tubing.

I spliced in a length of brass tubing (there are a multitude of ways to fix the problem without replacing the whole tube) and everything is now just fine.
