I have a 2001 Cavalier automatic and the shifter light is out. Does anyone know how to change the bulb?

WHo cares about a shifter light, especially in an automatic. If u need the light u should be riding the bus.

you mean the light under the shifter that tells you what gear it's in?

you'll need to remove the center console enough to get under it, just remove the bolts that i think are located under the armrest and in front of the cup holder. i think there might be another one holding it down, but i can't remember. anyways, once you do that, you should be able to find the bulb down towards the floor on the drivers side, directly under the prnd321 thing. pop it out, go to autozone and get a replacement, then reverse everything. It shouldn't take too long. I didn't have any trouble with my 2000 cav.
