ABS light on with BRAKE light on... Fuse?
Saturday, January 14, 2006 1:37 AM
Everytime I start my car no trouble lights come on, but as soon as I put it in gear eithe the ABS light comes on or both the ABS and BRAKE (e-brake) light come on... It doesn't seem to effect the drivability of the car, I'd just like to get it fixed to save the annoyance.

Any ideas? Fuse?

My radio was stolen awhile ago and I just had the stock CD Player put back in.. Could the thief have messed up something to cause the lights?

Appreciate the help.

Have you checked the Brake Fluid Level.

If the level is LOW the Brake light will come ON.

If that light comes On the ABS light will illuminate to say it can't work.

Just a thought, easy things first

There seems to be loads of info here.

In the CQB 00 05 in the 2000 Carquest bulletins, there is a reference to speed sensor wiring chafing through.

This link

has a nice overall picture of a system.

This link cites bad earths and wiring.

Really if you check:-
1. Brake fluid level
2. Both connectors and wiring on the hydraulic modulator/master cylinder
3. Wiring to all four wheel speed sensors

That's almost all you can do without having the codes read/ going to the dealer.

Was the stock CD player wired correctly?

Hope it helps, anyway
