Another scam alert!!!!
Wednesday, August 06, 2008 6:08 PM
I have a Venom Nitrous kit listed on Craigslist, and got an email from this guy that is obvously a scammer. Keep an eye out people.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply, i am happy to hear back from you, i'm
okay with the price and condition. But i'm presently out of the
states,i'm presently in England where i work as an Engineer, so
i'll like to see the transaction go smoothly without my
appearance.
Concerning the shipment.you do not need to worry about it,
i have a reputable shipping company that will handle the
shipment. There is this reliable colleague of mine that resides
in Alaska,he's owing me $2500 so i 'll instruct him to send you
a Cashier's check or Money Orders of that $2500 and as soon as
you receive it, you'll have to cash it and you should deduct
your own portion of the funds which is $500 from the payment,
then you'll have to get the rest money sent via western union
money transfer to the shipping company that will be coming for
the pick up from your house and other items which they're to
ship to my house in the states...

The reason why am sending you that much money is because if
I send my shipping company a seperate check it would take
about 30 working days to clear the check in uk, London while it
takes only 2-3working days for the check to be cleared in the
United States.
I will be compesating you with $50 after the transaction for
the stress you may go through,so you will have to deduct the
total of $550 from the funds and send the remaining amount to
my shipping company. Please note that all transfer charges will
be deducted from the excess funds you'll be sending to the
shipping company, not with your own personal money. So i hope
you'll be able to help me out in doing this,if so,you'll have
to email me the following details so that payment could be
mailed out to you at once...
1,Name to be written on the
Check ..........................
2,Address to send the Check to.................................
3,your contact phone number(Home & Cell)...............
I look forward to your quick response.
Best Regards.
Bright Cole.

N.B,
The reason why the shippers amount is a little bit expensive
is because they would also be shipping some goods for me from
Japan to my house in Wyoming,so that is why i want you to help
me in cashing the check.

I don't get why they're always with absolutely HORRID grammar and spelling, and they expect people to believe it?

Not sure why you'd post this here though and act like you're alerting everyone about this issue to be wary of; you think people are going to do what someone like this asks them to?

lmao... take their money, string them along for weeks saying 'oh idk where the money is, please send it again'

i did that and got two identical ACTUAL cashiers checks for $3000 each from a scammer trying the exact same thing. i wrote' void' on em and framed them then after like 3 months went by i told them i knew what was going on the whole time and to die in a fire. they didnt email back

i talked to one of these guys before....

they used a TTY / Repeater service to call the graphics shop and tried to order 50 blank banners

as soon as it moved to email, i noticed the IP addy was from Ghana Africa. So it was no surprise when he later said... " i need it shipped to ghana using my reputable shipping company. Here is my address." in the same grammar as above. the shipping company had a yahoo address, and their address was like 3 numbers down from him. So when he said. "I need you to western union the shipping company and then i'll give you my CC number." i said "Why can't you just pay your own shipping, you live like 2 doors down"... and he gave me some sort of excuse.... so when i felt like he was about to give up (after telling him i don't work with Western Union, and nothing will happen until i get his CC number.) I used microsoft virtual earth ( www.virtualearth.com ) and took an aerial picture of his building...

never heard back from him. It was kinda funny cause i was screwing with him just about as bad as he was trying to screw with me.

Oversees Western Union is teh FAIL
