I have a blown 2.4 motor which is hard to find replacement can i swap in a 2.2 cause their easy to find the car is a 99 alero

its not hard to find a 2.4 motor. i found one with only 40k on it for dirt cheap
yeah you will never be happy with a 2.2
You'd have to swap the transmission, the engine wiring harness, the PCM, possible the BCM and some other stuff too.
Lot more work than just finding a 2.4L.
