I'll make it fast:
I was looking in AG at a couple of posts where the pictures exceeded my screen width (I use 1280x1024, this doesn't happen often), lo and behold, I see the bottom of the post has a scroll bar, not the rest of the thread...
Damn!!!! THAT IS PURE GENIUS!!!
Am I behind the times, or has it been implemented recently?
And now for something completely different... Click the Minister.
you sir are behind the times
I personally feel that it was put in with good intentions, but it just doesn't work. I could normally use my entire screen to see posts and photos, but now the photos are missing pieces because the forum width is smaller that my screen.
I'm just a bitch.

It was implemented like two weeks ago. I like it, though with a long ass string of pictures it's a pain to scroll down to the bottom of the post, scroll to the side, then scroll back up to see the rest of the picture.

I agree. The original intention was to have a scrollbar on each image. Unfortunately some people with older web browsers put an end to that. I'm still revising the code a little bit and I am going back to having a scrollbar on each image. I am just working on getting around the older browsers.

the problem with that still is that you only see part of the picture
at least when the whole screen scrolled, you had a chance to scroll over and see the whole picture, not just what could fit into the column the thread is restricted to

Ok, let me ask you then, what would you rather do, not see the whole image unless you use the scrollbar on each image, or have to scroll the page left and right repeatedly when someone posts a novel that you really want to read? In the end this has less to do with the image, and more to do with text of the posts before and after the post with the images (or sometimes the same post).

i click the middle mouse button on the image and can slide it left or right.
Dave, can you do the auto image resize thing?
ie.

^Just picked the first post I could find that did it.
IMO that is a much better way to do it

Yeah alot of other forums i use offer that. Its 100x better. I hate scrolling side to side. i dotn care if its just the picture or the whole page. Its a pain in the ass.
However, what dave has done is definitly better than before
If anything, auto-resize plus what he has currently. Stopping posts from breaking up the page formatting is never a bad thing.
eveyrone just needs to get firefox
