I was just looking through auto trader today and found a '97 cavalier GTZ. Basically a Z24 with different side skirts and rear bumber by the looks of it. Has anyone else ever herd of this or have any pictures of one online?

yah theres a couple here in montreal..i think it was a special package the dealer was adding as an option when they sold the car..its a z22 with sides and different mags...

so basically a sport 2.2?...not different 2.4?

i doubt its a z24 ..all the ones i've seen had the 2.2L OHV

Yep. Same like the Z22 and the Sunfire GTO. They're not actual models. Just some dressing the dealers put on to try and make them seem special.

And if anyone wants to argue with this, PLEASE go do some research and post some actual facts to the contrary because I'm tired of people swearing up and down that their car is a genuine Z22 just because their dealer told them so or that somehow ended up on an insurance form or something. If you've got some GM corporate literature to back it up, I'd love to hear about it.

Dealer rice up here in Canada. The best one I've seen was on the remainder of the 05 cavy's....big sticker on the rear quater panel that said "Z02" Man did I ever laugh when I saw that. A new low for dealer rice

I've never seen or heard of any cavalier Gtz. I know dealer rice is common thing but cavalier Gtz? show me one and I'll be 100% ready to destroy that damn thing.

ive seen a few cavalier GT's around here, basically base models with the razzi kit on it, and they paint cavalier gt on the sides, pretty gay...
