| Description: | The inaugural IMPORTFEST at Toronto?s infamous SKYDOME ? World?s Greatest Entertainment Centre on September 29 2001 was a huge success! With the support of many well-known manufacturers and vendors in the industry and the anticipation of many across North America, IMPORTFEST was indeed "Canada?s biggest and baddest import car show". An estimated over 25,000 people attended the show along with 450 competing show vehicles supported the event many coming from the states. From start to finish, IMPORTFEST was full of excitement, surprises and high energetic spirits. Prior to opening the gates, the retractable roof began to open and sunshine began to pour inside the dome. The cars were glittering from sunshine and ready for show. Throughout the day, there was much to see and tons to do including autograph sessions by the two hottest models in the scene, Natasha Yi and Rowena Galam featured in the blockbuster hit "Rush Hour 2". As the show gradually shifted from day to night so did the theme, towards the last 4 hours of the show the roof was closed and the lights turned dim. ImportFest had now been transformed in to a Night Club with cars, the music was blasting, the strobes were turned on and the largest video display in North America (the Jumbotron) was capturing it all. The anticipation for IMPORTFEST2002 has already begun and the response has been overwhelming. Many people who attended the show and even those who did not are already looking forward to next year?s IMPORTFEST inside the World?s Greatest Entertainment ? SKYDOME. |
