Hey all, so I have my car, and I would like to remove the wipers cause it doesn't rain alot here, and I have huge wipers (well what seems like it) and I want to slim things down a little bit. I have already pulled off the nut, but the wiper won't pull over the bolt! am I missing something?
i wouldnt reccommend doing this, but hit it with some wd40 and wiggle the arm off the bolt. they get rusted on there pretty good. just wiggle it off and it will come off
best method that my boss taught me is to kinda pull/push it up and down. not wiggle side to side or try to twist it. Seems to work very well too, couple tugs and they normally come free on all the vehicles i've worked on when needed to be removed
its not that I am taking them off permanently, its more of an aesthetics thing. Don't worry, they will be going back on the first sign of rain/snow/canadian weather
exctly whatmanta said grab asturdy hold on the arm wiggle it up and down she'll pop right off there in no time.
beat on it with a sledge hammer untill it comes off....dont you just love Generous Motors?

A small puller works treat.
I know mine arent the same but i pulled the tab out and then used a huge crescent wrench to lift mine out
I take the cover, then the 13mm nut off... then push down a bit where the hinge is, comes off very easy every time.
there should be two little holes drilled through the wiper arm itself, one on each side. take a long drill bit, pop rivet, anything long enough to go through both sides and small enough to fit through.
what you do is pull up on the wiper arm all the way, insert the shaft you found through both holes... this will hold up the spring inside and make it much easier to pop the arm off the motor pole as it takes the pressure off.
