I'ma do some in my 04 headlamps with some bi-xenon projectors so that I can keep my high. Just waiting on the parts though.

Somebody bought some 00-02 custom hid projectors for a cavy a few days ago on ebay but is having problems with the headlight or something... I can't remember

i'll be doin the same thing after my engine is all boosted. i'd suggest using projectors instead of just putting HID's in a stock headlamp, otherwise you're gonna throw too much glare.

Very cool man, props on all the work. It looks like you know what you are doign and are not some hack. BTW, mine and my friend's cars in the picture I posted both have Lexus IS 300 HID retrofits. He made his fit into his stock 00 housings and fabbed up a custom sheild, so it doesn't produce a blinding glare. I myself took the IS 300 reflector and all and made it fit in the sunfire housings, so I virtually have the exact same output as the Lexus does. Fun fun.

i am surprised the cavalier lights work well. with the shielding on top that would but down on the light output to the ground....glare actually comes from the bottome half of the headlights.

i knew someone one day would have the urge to tell me that. so i took these two pix. these are about driving eye level, so you tell me, where do YOU see the majority of the glare coming from? while yes, there is not a perfect 100% gone glare, it is so minimal that i have yet to have anyone flash me.... thank you come again.

hey dont thake what i said as an attack. I realize your design cut down on the glare. I was just stating that i was surprised that it did cut down on the glare, thats all.

personally i am cutting down the glare from the bottome of the reflector. although i am not sure how it will work as i dont have the headlights quite yet.
anyway the lights look good. i might be stealing your idea if mine does not work well enough.

yea, "conventionality" isn't quite common anymore (aka on the reflectors for example), so the best thing to do (and what i did) is to stand up and slowly move yourself downwards in the direct path of the light. whatever hits your eye first, is what should be taken out.
