Hi, I wanted to know how to hook up Apexi SAFC II to Cavalier/Sunfire 2.4L PCM ? Does anyone has a picture of this hook up ? or make diagrams of Apexi SAFC II Diagram hook up to Cavalier/Sunfire 2.4L PCM Diagram ? Make things easier for who want Apexi SAFC II hook up on their Cavalier/Sunfire 2.4L I know if some of you say get tuning but some of those who dont want tuning and rather Apexi SAFC II hook up on their car. Thanks
Ok, Then why I am seeing Pre 99 Cavalier/Sunfire 2.4L Supercharged Guys are using Apexi SAFC II on their car for tuning ? To tune better for Air and Fuel ? That I had seen alot of them are using it. Some of those guys use tuning by laptop but some use Apexi SAFC II on their car. I know can't work on 2.2L Ecotec cause I had read alot of threads on J-body.org Its more like 50/50. Since my car is a 97 and its 2.4L Supercharged. I wanted to give better tune by using Apexi SAFC II with Ford Brown Top Fuel Injector. That I wanted to know.
Hey, Go look on Google or Yahoo and type down (SAFC + Browntops = Perfect Idle) and you will see link and click on that its on J-Body.org That I was wondering about that.

I do not need to look at it, because I know how the jbody ECU works. Reason they get a decent idle is the map sensor controls fuleing only at idle, once off idle MAP sensor is used for timing, so the SAFC is not helping your fuel. This usually causes more issues than not. You are better off with a AFPR and FMU, than a SAFC.

Please tell me English is not your first laungauge because you suck at it. I am not familair enough with the Apexi SAFC II to explain to you 'why" it does not work but it has been said for as long as I have been in the jbody scene (since 2002) that it does not work. There must be a good reason for everyone saying that.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Well at least I am asking a decent question. Not hurt to ask and nobody cares if somebody english sucks at it. I just wanted to make sure before I mess up my car. I am new at this and wanted to ask some expert who knows what to do with the car. It doesn't hurt to ask. Can't I ? Thanks for your time.
Ok John, I have AFPR and FMU at 8:1 setting. Ok, I wont get SAFC. But will that work when I put in Ford Brown Top Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail with PSI Gauge to adjust better tuning ? What PSI I should set at ? Like 36 PSI ? Will that be good enough ?
My Apexi SAFC post is like 5 years old give or take... pre HPTUNERS.
The S-AFC doesn't function the way it was intended to function - at least not when installed on a J-body.
Your best bet to tune those injectors is HPTuners. Good luck!

Ok, I will do that. But right now my car is sputter and don't work right. I am looking at possibility bad Coil pack or Electric Fuel Pump failure. I will have to check that out. But thank you Chris for give an good advise.
yeah i wondering the same thing if it works cause i have a 1996 turbo'd 2.4 cavy with a safc 2 with ford red tops and its seems to do whatever i want it to do i can pull fuel at idle and when under boost i can add fuel to the point of black smoke pouring out the pipe so i dont understand why ppl say it dont work

Unless your ECU is a speed Density ECU a SAFC will not work.

I just found out that my Cavalier has bad coil. Since its 2.4L tend to have bad coil pack sometimes. I guess I will do 2.2L OHV Coil Swap. I heard its better than 2.4L coil pack. Let me know what you guys think ?
i have 96 too with safc too .. and works it actually depends on the type of ecu the cars have as john said , will work a long as the car have SD ecu
Seeing how 95s were speed density and some 97s were speed density, I dont think it is too far fetched to think the 96 could be a speed density unit.
