Painted grill with bedliner (Jeep content inside)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 4:12 PM
So i decided to paint the grill of my TJ with rattle can bed-liner. I think it turned out pretty well.
First i did some sanding and got everything masked off:

5 very light coats of bed-liner and 3 coats of satin clear later: (My other jeep in the background)

and a look at the texture:

C&C welcome

Hmmm.
I'm kinda on the fence. I both like it and not sure if i like it the same. The over all rig is awesome though

Should have been more specific, removing the flares and doing them with the same liner to achieve a color match and similar texture.

Or pickup a junkyard set and try it out on those in case you don't like it.

Actually i removed and painted all the flares about 2 weeks ago. I used krylon fushion in satin black. Looking back I probably should have used bed-liner. I really dont feel like taking them all back off and re-spraying them, so i'll have to wait a few years until they need re-spraying.

Im keeping my eyes peeled for something cheap i can mock it up with and see if i like it or not.

That texture reminds me of my hammertone rims.
