Something just occured to me.. Does anyone ever heard of a 2.4 Turbo ( SRT 4 ) engine being swapped into a Z? I was thinking about it the other day, and thier virtuly the same engine.. only thing i was thinking about, is maybe different motor mounts and more room needed for the turbo and I.C. Any ideas?

Not the same engine. The only thing they share the same is that they use pistons and that they are both labeld 2.4
Not to say you can't get it done but it would require a whole lot more than just motor mounts. Like the whole SRT4 to make it work.

...this same thread was posted just a week or two ago. My friend, the cost, labor, and time it would take to fab the mounts, housing, comp changes, etc. make it not even worth the time and trouble. If only it were so easy as to drop in an engine from another make / model...the money you'd spend on a swap dream like that, you could build your top and bottom end on a 2.4, run massive boost, and kill the srt-4 performance. much easier, too.

just put a jado rocket on the roof of your car, like that guy with the 68 impala did in cali like 5 years ago
the police found it in the side of a montain,,,, they estimated it was traveling at over 300mph
incase you don't know a jado rocket is what they use on those giant airplanes in the army when the plane has to take off from a short strech or runway
that is your best beat you will beat everything on the road if u can keep it on the ground!!! otherwise you will give planes a good run for their money

they proved that wrong on Myth Busters, it never even happened. They attached model rocket engines to a impala that produced more thrust than a jado rocket. All the car did was go really fast. They interviewed the cop who has worked in that country forever (he was an old timer) and he said he heard of the story, but says its not true.

true but dumping as much money as 1/2 the cost of the car is not worth it when you can built up an eco and swap it in for much less

so even tho both engines are a 2.4 everything else about them is different, including the mounts, stroke, cams covers tranny bolt pattern, everything

i hear there is a guy on jbody that will make you mounts for either the 3.4, or the 3.8 i can never remember all in all you are gonna talk about spedin many dollars....

^^^ Umm hey tool, opinion doesn't enter into it. You obviously don't know diddly about engines, else you'd have the common sense to know that a dodge 2.4 L DOHC turbo is is NO WAY related to the chevy 2.4 twincam in any way other than the coincidence that they have the same displacement and number of cams. Perhaps your time would be better spent by buying some automotive-related books and magazines, and paging through the archives in order to gain the knowledge necessary to ask a semi-intelligent question before posting a nice big bullseye for people to shoot flames at.
