so I thought Christmas was over and done with, I had already gotten slue of gifts from a guitar, to racing pedals to books I had asked for. but apparently there had been one more thing that I had left coming to me that I couldnt figure out.
a while back I was on the phone with the lady, and jokingly I had said that I wanted an ls1 throttle body with at least two vacuum ports an iac and a tps. oh and I wanted it to be chrome. I of course was joking thinking she wouldnt get it all but sure enough.
ls1 throttle body out of a Camaro, 75 mm of scariness.
the best part is, is that it didn't come polished she ordered it from a yard and it came.......well, like you would imagine a throttle body thats been sitting in the yard would.
so she took it to the master tech at her work ( she works at nissan, shes a bigger car nut then most of my friends) and asked if he could do anything about it. turns out the guy got a polishing tool for christmas. and owed her a favor. needless to say it turned out amazing.
Im getting this mated asap, and im even going to be able to use the iac. I can control it with my Megasquirt. @!#$s pimp

btw has anyone ever used a TB this big? the reason im asking is that im worried about the idle. even with the iac closed, the TB is still designed to idle an ls1, I mean it looks like the damn idle ports and hole in the butterfly are enough to run my car alone. it shouldnt be to much of problem though. Im thinking the first step is to get a blank flapper, and if thats still not enough, im going to have to figure out a way to make the main idle passage smaller, any suggestions

a few people are running 75's just fine... some that come to mind are skunk and brandon fetter. im pretty sure spyhunter is as well... and probably camron (boostedeco's).

Yeah I run a 75 just fine with no idle issues. But mine isnt off of a camaro so i am not sure in the holes in the plate are any different.

Camron, ours may not be off a LS1 per say, but they could be used on one. As long as you do the coolant by pass.
As for idling and all that jazz, it worked great BEFORE even touching the car w/ hpt so you should have no issues there.
