messed up? this wasn't a paid piece of work. it's a 5 minute job, maybe. wasn't meant to be perfect by any means.

Hey man, thanks for the chop. I was actually thinking about doing exactly like how you molded them. The bumper looks a little funky molded in though, never been much a fan of that. But thanks again for the chop, give me an idea.

I could get these things powdercoated for $300, or I could just have them painted for free and have them back the next day. Soo I think I'll be swapping back to the 17's tomorrow afternoon so I can take the faces off and get them painted before the week is over. Thats the plan, so I'm hoping it all goes smoothly. I also got ahold of Racinghart aka Dazz Motorsports, he wasn't really all that helpful. They don't even make the wheels here in America, they're shipped from Japan or China. So needless to say, they don't have any spare 3-piece rim bolts to sell me, so I'm guessing I'll just have to settle for some sort of allen bolt from Ace Hardware or something.. unless someone knows specifically where I can find some?

Contact a wheel repair shop local to you for the bolts. I don't want to see you going down the road and have the wheel come apart on you. Bolts at Ace/Lowe's/Home Depot I wouldn't trust to hold the wheel together while driving at highway speeds. You don't want them to brake or come losse on you down the road. Don't cheapin the wheels by doing something like that please. Again I will let you know about what we talked about I hope soon.

TRD: I was just going to throw an Ace bolt in as a dummy bolt to cover up the whole. I'm going to replace all the actual nuts with new ones and definitely use locktite when I zap them back together.

James (rollin19s): Very interesting to know, I already felt lucky to have gotten them, but now I guess I feel extra lucky .

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, now on with an update on disassembly:

So far I got 3 wheels taken apart tonight, last one should be a cinch and the painter promised me he'd spray them for me by Friday night, so I can put them together Saturday morning at the latest. Only thing I'm not sure about is if I should do a jet black, metalic black, or black with a pearl. Probably just going to stay with jet black becuse it'd be easy to touch up, which I'll likely need to do eventually since I'm not powdercoating them.

Me workin':

Takes an 8mm 12-point Torx to get them out. Just had to hold down the nut with a 10mm wobbly socket:

All bolts out:

Then just smack it real hard with a plastic-coated hammer all around on the spokes

Then it just pops out in your hand

And voila, face is out and ready to scuff up and paint.

you should remove the spokes of the rims at car shows on one corner or 1 side of the car and have it jacked up.. so it has the look of the wheel tire there but then u can look in and sell the rotors and all the brake stuff without a wheel in the way lol

Well if anyone is following this progress, been busting buts to get these things done in a hurry. Spent last night and most of this morning scuffing them and cleaning them properly, not a fun task on intricate wheels with bolt holes and such, but it all pays off in the end, saved alot of money doing everything myself.

My painter Bobby laying down some basecoat. I originally wanted just regular Chrysler black metallic (PXR) but he thought it'd look better with my gray paint if it had some blue and violet pearle in it. These booths suck btw, absolute trash, so we gotta hose it down with water to get anything decent out of it.

Looks bad in this pic, but if you're this close to my wheels in person then you're too close and should probably back away.

As of right now I have 2 done, they are going together alot easier than they came apart. They honestly lost a little bit of their "wow" factor going from silver to black, some of the details get lost, but I had to do it so I'm not gonna worry about that. Hope you guys like, I'll probably have them all done and on tomorrow.

This car has one of the nicest asses I've ever seen. The wheels did lose a little of that wow factor going to black. Maybe flat black would have worked better? BTW, are those the tips off a C5 Vette?

I'm just tossing this out there... but shouldnt a re-balance be in order. The bolts cant all be exactly the same weight, so even if you put the 'star' back in the rim as it came out, the balance is probably off?

Well here they are, all done.

Again like I said, they lost a little of their wow factor, and honestly do not look as good as they did in silver, as they had a distinct unique look that I've always loved, BUT it had to be done and I'm happy with it. One big advantage over the silver is that it shows off my nice shiny brakes, and as mentioned before the black has that whole batmobile thing going for it. No sunshine pics of the pearl yet, got done a tad too late. Some may ask why I went through all this trouble for wheels that look almost identical to my other ones, but the main reason was because I couldn't use the other ones without having to add fender flares (and I really didn't want to have to do that), and I got a steal on these, and these are much more detailed and rare, so all in all it was worth the trouble.

Well I have to say those look so hot. If for any reason you sell those I get first dibs on the RH's. I got some post today cause I paid 2 bucks to speak. It was killing me not being able to say anything in some other post. So I just thought I would let everyone know those are the sweetest rims period.
