Braided Radiator Hoses Installed & New Blue V/C!
Monday, July 31, 2006 12:21 PM
Here are those custom hoses I got, installed in the car as promised.
Also some pics of my new painted valve cover that I got matched up to my powdercoated engine caps.

I was really not ready to take pics yet because I am getting a few more parts done for this weekend's show, but could not wait! If the judges cannot find SOMETHING about my engine bay worthy of a prize of some sort, I just dont know what else to do with it, besides adding the supercharger of course (next year) or adding 14 carat gold accents or something...

Besides what you see, I am also getting my billet strut tower caps powdercoated in the same blue (they will have CF centers with chrome bowties), getting the cruise control bracket done the same way, and getting my spare fuel rail polished to match the air intake. All this stuff will be done by Friday - that will be about it for this year...I may paint my intake manifold to match like Jackalope did...if budget allows, I'd LOVE the MRZ performance strur bar - his work is amazing.

Let me know what you think-thanks!

Please say that this engine bay looks finished so I can move on to something else... I'd like to finish the interior over the winter so next year can belong to performance.

Looks really good, but can you get a pic of these hoses you had made.

BTW transmission needs a coat of silver paint!

Almost done. I used Dupi Color silver wheel paint on mine. It looks great. Painted it in the car. I just had to tape everything eles off. It wipes clean too.

Yeah I have been thinking of getting that painted blue to match. Problem with that is getting it out of the car, etc, plus mine is a daily driver...

But I'm definitely doing something with the tranny cover at some point.

You can see the custom upper radiator hose in the top pic and the bottom hose in the bottom pic.

Thanks guys

lol - no I have not eaten off it yet, but my neighbor said that my engine was cleaner than her kitchen floor.

So I figured I would shoot for a cleanliness level equal to a surgery suite next...

The small braided hoses I bought at a local speed shop - it comes in rolls of different widths and you tell them how much to cut for you.

The big upper and lower radiator hoses are a custom job from a company that buys the hoses from Dayco and hand-braids them for you. They were 80 bucks each. I have no idea who it was because they are a connection of the speed shop and she did not seem very eager to tell me...

Thanks again for the great comments

A really awesome looking engine bay. What would really finish it off, is to turn your hose clamp so the screw part is on the back or bottom side of the hose. It can be a pain and a little extra work to tighten them, but the screw part of the clamp is taking a little bit from the sweet looking hoses and hose ends.

Just something I learned from my friends who have had their cars/hot rods in magazines.

BIG BOOST

If you really want to paint up the transmission you can do so with it in the car! Look at my pic's of my transmission while in the car. My engine was out, but you could do the same if you just undo some wires and the mount.
