Time Travel!

When I first got the car in May of 2003 (minus seat covers):

First mod: Shaved badges:

Next mod: Neons (and my wanna-be R Racing sponsorship car):

Afterwards: Dug up a 1991-1994 Z24 kit:

Then I got the Cavalier tails to put my license plate somewhere:

Then, an akward phase where it seemed like the car never looked right:

Problem solved!:

Then I redid the interior to match the impending color scheme:

After a much-too-long wait, paint came!:

Things were lookin bad after we had issues with the clear coat:

But it was soon fixed!

Then the neons were put back on!:

And, Saturday, August 20th, another setback for the Sunbird Z24...

Insurance called it totalled, said it was $1800 or more to repair the car...well....$250 later, the car is drivable yet again!

And, with the money the insurance company gave me, I have put some new seats in the car, and am finishing up the car to be the way I always wanted it to be!

When I look back at what you started with and what you did with it I give you a lot of credit and a big THUMBS UP! Everything pulled together and looks awesome! A nice set of 5 spoke black wheels would look mint on there, polished lip..excellent 2nd gen

Thanks, guys I am considering a set of 2000 Z24 wheels a friend has offered...only thing holding me back, really, is cost...they all need rubber, so Im lookin at $400 minimum for the tires, $75 of that being the actual aluminum...

Not much in the way of performance...cant afford anything big I had thought about dropping in a 3.1, though...

Thanks for the kind words, Dave

sticky, yeah, the 3rd gen seats have the same bolt pattern. Took me about 10 minutes per seat (2nd gen seats have a couple bolts that hold the seatbelt latch to the side, took forever to get em off)

Dougall, I had hill-billy latched it with a bungee cord. I picked up the hood earlier that day, had a different latch setup. As you can see in the last pics, I used hood pins to hold it down now

Derek, yeah, its kinda tall....I may cut it down...yeah, I kinda like the back end But Im trading the blackout tails with a friend to get some regular red ones...I just want the car to look semi-stock now...plus i had to paint like 3 tails, cause the glue kept coming undone and it fell off into traffic

Your car has definitely come a long way. It's looking better and better everytime I see new pictures .

I love having the Sunfire seats in mine, they are so much more comfortable than the Sunbird seats.

One thing I would change that would have looked good is you should have picked up a pair of the Cavalier seats that are graphite with red specks, that would have looked really good with your color scheme, but either way it is looking good as always. Keep it up.

Thanks, Carrie Yeah, I love these seats, Im not too worried about color because:

1. They are graphite
2. I might put some seat covers on (maybe I'll even buy yours )

No problem . Yeah, graphite looks good no matter what . Let me know if you're interested in the covers and I'll get 'em out to ya A.S.A.P. . Keep up the good work.

On a side note, I read in your registry that you have some stainless steel hoses. I was wondering if you have any pictures of your engine so I could see how they look. I just installed some on my Sunfire GT, but I would like to see how they look on your car.

Yeah, those hoses look really good. Hopefully later today I will be posting pictures of the ones that I installed on my Sunfire GT. They really make a huge difference in the engine compartment. I am also going to get some pictures of my interior swap progress on the Sunbird. Once again, your car looks amazing, keep it up.
