dash swap

I know there is a million and 1 posts about this but i have looked and looked and i cant get a conclusive answer on this,

i have a 97 base cavalier auto, i want to swap to the sunfire dash, is the cluster out of a 95-99 sunfire plug and play?
my cluster does not have a tach, so do i have to get a sunfire cluster without a tach or can it have one?
does it have to come out of an auto, I know some cars it does not matter?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!!!!!

I do know that i have to swap the entire dash and door panels also.

Lifes a B**ch,
You marry one,
Then you DIE!!

Ok ill take a stab at this again, i feel like ive been explaining this a lot lately

You have a 97 Cavalier with a 2.2L and a three speed auto correct?

If thats the case.... you need to get a cluster out of a 95-97 sunfire that has the 3 speed auto, tach doesnt matter, because one, it will work in your car.... and two, they all have tachs.

The clusters are NOT plug and play..... you need the harness plug from the sunfire, and replace/splice into your cavalier. To do this I recommend a 96 or 97 sunfire because the plug connector will have all the same colored wires, the 95 has a few different colored wires but its doable.

thats about it really... pretty simple..... like i said, to make it easier use the cluster and connector plug out of a 96-97

avoid 98-99 because of the digital odometers.... and avoid 2000-2005 because the clusters are completely different altogether.

hope this helps
