Even though the rims might weigh the same, the farther the weight is from the center of the wheel, theres more rotating mass.

is it a muscle car?

if the answer is no, then i ask why?

the other reason i wouldnt recomend it, is it is kind of pointless. generally when tires are staggard like this, the rear tires are wider. this will do nothing but create more drag on a front wheel drive car, and will only hurt performance.

like i said, if you want to do this, go ahead. but its more of a pain than what it is worth in "cool factor". if i went to a show and saw a staggard size on a FWD car, i think i would have to shake my head.

but like i said, do what you want to do. its your money and your car.

As a mini trucker I would have to disagree that muscle cars are the only thing that looks good on stags extended cab S-10s on 18/20 stags look great. Why not stag a Cavalier? After all, it is the rear wheels on a FWD and I don't really see why this would drive the computer crazy if it is a light weight set of wheels...besides, I always recommend upgrades to bigger brakes with a three inch or higher jump from the biggest factory size on the vehicle. And I believe the point in automotive styling is to come up with something all your own...He may be onto something with this staggering thing.

i forgot to mention the trucks, your right. but at the same time, most of those small trucks like s10s and rangers only have 2 wheel abs on the rear only, and will not be bothered by the changing of the size since it is only gathering data from the rear wheels.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

2 things... in the winter time, I run my stock 14" steelies in the front and 16's in the rear. Never had the ABS light come on. The only time it did was when the driver's front speed sensor wiggle itself loose.

20's are nice, if the wheels flow with the rest of the car, and you have the big brake kits.

First off... The red vert looks pretty wicked... nothing wrong with running 20s if you like it, some car/wheel combos look disgusting, as holds true for any car.
The ABS thing is WRONG. There is nothing in the computer that says the front wheels have to be in sync with the rear wheels, just ask all the cool guys that yank the E-brake up around the turns... that isn't the only time wheels go out of sync though, every single time you go around a turn, the inside wheels are going to spin slower than the outside wheels as they are covering less ground.
All your ABS computer is looking for is to see if a wheel STOPS spinning, in which case it will pulse the pressure.
