parts not found for cavy ecotec s/c
Saturday, February 23, 2008 5:34 PM
ran into a problem. email my uncle who works at chevy dealership to see if he can find the parts i'm missing. i bought this from a guy on jbo who then sold it to a guy on jbo/ecotec and then i bought it from him. things may have gotten lost in translation but i'm missin the followin items and they can't be found on gmpd nor at the parts desk. i may even have the wrong part #. any help would be greatly appreciated. my uncle did say i should contact who ever puts together the kits (magnuson for example) to see if they have any parts for it. i called magnuson, they do not make this kit. so any insight on how puts together the kits would be great as well.

any one know who makes the s/c kit as in put its together for crateenginedepot, gmpd, and paceperformance?

these are the parts in the ecotec 2.2 cavalier supercharger kit i'm missing. thanks for your help.

yeah man, your not going to be able to get half of that stuff, you are better off selling what you have and buying the kit

Some of that wiring stuff wont be necessary. Your factory map sensor will fit in the plug on your supercharger so you wont even need those map connectors or anything like that, you will just have to extend the wires to fit. You can find all that other stuff man with just a little bit of common car knowledge. You dont have to get everything from GM.

Are you fully retarded or only partially? You find me a plug on the stock Eco that fits into the TMAP sensor used on the M62 kit and I'll show you some oceanfront property in Tennessee.

Douglas Collins was referring to how I, Airtonics, and a few others did with our set ups. The cobalt has a sensor on the blower that we don't use and hence that is where we placed our map sensors. That's for a stock map bar.

You are speaking of the T-map, he is speaking about using the stock map sensor....just mis communication.

i believe, just a guess

the first pic is what holds the manifold to the head

the last pic has to do wit the bracket for the alternator and idles...hence the longer bolts

Yeah I was talking about taking your factory map sensor and putting into the s/c instead of using the TMap. I was a little skeptical at first until K Vega, and Airtonics showed me pics and it is true, it does fit right into the s/c. K Vega saved me around 120 bucks just in wiring because that connector just for the Tmap is like 80 bucks not to mention the cost of all the other parts.

Re: parts not found for cavy ecotec s/c

Also, if you used the Tmap sensor anyways, you would have issues doing your tune due to the 2.5 bar Tmap and its Resolution. If you use your factory map sensor like we recommend, you dont have to worry about that because your map sensor will never see positive pressure because it is on the inlet side. Shifted, knows a little bit more about the tuning aspect and he will also tell you to leave your factory map sensor and iat sensor in there for tuning purposes.

to help.....a lil

call your local snapon/matco/ect dealer and ask for a
tap and die for m8 bolts, he should be able to reference it rather easy....maybe 30ish bucks

than buy the standard lsj manifold bolts

swapped, supercharged, intercooled, 2.9, fun

That one greyish/white/silver bolt in the middle by itself (not the small one in the corner with oil on the threads) looks like the throttle body bolt to me.

There are 4 of them, two long and two short...that's one of the long ones.

I don't remember any black bolts!

The rest honestly look to be brand new and I can't place any other those.

I have two pics of the boxes open before I installed everything but theres not much to see....

Those 5 in the bottom pic, lower right side look to be the manifold bolts that hold the SC down.

There are 4 of them, all hex heads or whatever they are called....but they look different than mine....maybe not?
