Thanks Viper98912 for the Schem. John, I am currently having a problem with my right headlight, it keeps shorting out at random times and screwing with my DRL's. Wanted to run through possible problems, I just changed bulbs to an aftermarket style (same wattage) not to long ago, but have checked throughout and can not see any physical problems(wiring, connections, etc). Tomorrow I am going to have to run through everything again...........
try disabling your drls, maybe that will fix it. Do a search and use the method that involves grounding a wire beside the BCM. I drive an 03, and I did that. I've never had any problems.

wierd question guys but is it possible that a faulty cluster could be causing the problems we all experience with our lights?
probably not

relay in the side fuse panel could be going bad

yes the relay. i skipped that since all my reading points to a faulty harness. well the harness is back in and still the same problem.
i don't know much about relays, so i was assuming they just die without warning. is it possible for them to go bad like you suggest? i'm not disputing you, i just don't know so have to ask the question
well, our headlight harness is really weird. depending on the situation of you car, w/ the relay gone it may work in some instances and not others. take out the relay and see if you get different results. if its the same then the relay is bad. if the way the lights work)or dotn work in your case) changes then you know the relay isnt the problem.....always better to elimate cheap fixes before you have to rip out the harness
