great work. im in the process of getting solidworks 2007, this gets me even more pumped! off topic, how hard is it to learn and work with? im no architect by any means, so i dont plan on putting hours and hours into learning the software.
but as far as comments on the box, if you measred everything to have the right air space and port size for the tuning you are aiming for, go fo it, looks good, little different from the norm.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

yea im going to school right now for product design so for me its really easy to learn how to use the program. but solidworks has seminars that you can go to, to learn the program and get a cheap home version thats the same as the student version for free. um but its not that hard to learn super simple it has a dynamic help button that will basically teach you anything you need to know. whenever you get it and have any questions just let me know (cause i am a certified solidworks associate) i can help ya.

Good deal! Thanks for the info and help offer. If you need any help with... @!#$, as much as I try to avoid car audio and wiring in general, I shouldn't say that lol.

Overall how big is that gonna be? And curious to know if your gonna be using one of there MOFO series subs.

yes thats the sub i modeled and that is the sub im using its gunna be the mofo 12 with a 3400 mono block in a 2.44 cu ft box and one 3 in dia flared port by 3.75 long

sorry I forgot to post the size. lol. the dims are 35 long by 15.5 deep and 14.5 tall

I'm not the biggest fan of asymmetrical designs, but I do like the idea. One question: how/where is it going to be oriented in the trunk?
im sorry i got lazy with the photoshop but it will be inbetween the wheel wells and the sub facing the trunk ill do a quick chop with a messy trunk

against the passenger side wheel well then? or centered? I personally think it would look good against the passenger side up against the seat, and it will maximize your trunk usability. It'd be easy to put some L-brackets on the back side to hold it in place, too.
not sure if its to scale but its a quick attempt and my computer is REALLY slow tonight i have no clue why

I work with solidworks everyday... if you have basic autoCAD knowledge... you'll get the jist of it. And Rendering is a click of a mouse. It's also almost identical to Catia if anyone was interested.
where do you work? im working at aspect automation right now, formerly remmely. did you go to school for engineering?

Well known in Northern Canada... and currently expanding overseas.
I was in automotive for 7 years and hated every minute of it.
Yup, I have my mechanical technologist diploma.
I'm running one of the 12's of the MOFO series right now with a BOSS RIOT 2500D and I love it. Having some issues with the sub and amp getting too hot.; but I think I just need to run a better ground. I also have another amp and sub ready to go in too but I need to cut the bracing to get both boxes to fit cause there HUGE. I've got the boxes built to spec with around 3.2 cubic foot of space (for displacement of the sub) and two 3inch by 9inch ports(PVC). Can't wait to see what kinda number's i'll get after the other box gets in.

2 seperate boxes and 2 seperate amps sounds like a terrible idea to get tuned right... then again you are running Boss brand amps, so I guess doing it right, getting rated power, and sounding good aren't your main concerns...

I have 2 of the same amps and subs; and they are bridgeable. So that was a horrible post, but to give you credit I didn't say I was gonna be running 2 Power Acoustick MOFO 12's and 2 BOSS RIOT 2500D's bridged....so my bad. I'm going more for SPL than SQ, but man does the one sub hit low. I'm excited to put the rest of it in.
Sounds like you haven't had much luck with the BOSS amps then huh?
"Thank you little roots; Stay strong." Chris Farley
Um no, I have extensive experience installing, owning, listening to, buying, and selling quality equipment. Go get that thing tested to see how much of your 2500 watts that amp actually cleanly puts out... and for how long. You get what you pay for.

I haven't thrown on the multimeter yet so i'm not sure exactly what power its pushing. I only paid $150 for both amps ( 1 new and 1 referbed). But i'll grab a multimeter from my buddy this week and see what it does.
"Thank you little roots; Stay strong." Chris Farley
yea plus the sub you have in there now is going to be broken in and the other one isnt, it is a way better idea to run one amp. it doesnt matter if they are the same exact amp they are probly going to push power at a different rate.. plus i know from experience that running 2 different amps makes the system sound horrible, but they were 2 completely different amps, i was young and stupid
(lol i say that and im only 19 lol)
