cool to see him man up, even though there are many more to blame as this was just another dropping the ball in american history of MANY groups...
even those who are pointing fingers still....
So....what's going to happen now that he takes responsibility?

Hell frozen over is deff a strong possibility.

Wow never thought I'd ever see him accept even partial responsibility for anything. For the first time ever, I actually have a reason to respect him.
Well I guess Hell finally has a use for snowplow trucks...
I've never heard of this "part throttle" before. Does it just bolt on?

No seriously, what's going to happen now? He gets fired? He won't get re-elected? He'll get his library card taken away?
Sounds like a PR move.

he can't get re-elected as far as I know. You can't be president more than 8 years in a row isn't it ?

Also like the President, I will be doing absolutely nothing about it.

Well, the first thing that will happen is people will stop talking about he needs to talk responsibility. I know that sounds obvious, but it's huge. Now they'll focus on the mayor and governor, and maybe in 6 mo's the American public will have forgotten he screwed up entirely.

You can be president for up to 10 years. The other 2 years could come from you inheriting the position as a VP.

Agreed.
Now, here's the hard part: Fix the problems.
I'm not going to speculate what Dubya will do, however, in similar circumstances in a little place called Waco TX, fmr Attourney Gen. Janet Reno accepted full responsibility, but little else was done to correct the problem.
I'm not going to say one way or the other if it's just lip service now... I'll hold my ideas in reserve until something (or nothing) is done in a timely fashion.

As far as I know, he can't be president again (unless he's VP or whatever). I was just illustrating my point. He can't be reprimanded and nothing bad to him can come out of this. Also, everyone knows it's not his fault so his accepting the responsibility is useless anyway.
But I guess, like GAM said, it brings the blame to a close and they can start fixing stuff.

Actally, Glace, he has a hand in it.
Admitting he does, and that he F-ed up is one thing. Actually doing something to remedy the situation, and accepting whatever (if any) punishments or ramifications is completely different.
I'd say there was a very good chance of impeachment if the Republicans didn't have controll of congress.

Yeah, because a Republican controlled congress wouldn't waste the time, money, and resources to impeach a prez unless he had commited a serious... Oh wait...nevermind.
LOL... You got it.

No, poking a secretary and lying about it isn't nearly as bad as dropping the ball in the wake of a disaster.
