I am very happy with this setup. The KYB's are set at half way front and rear. The ride feels stiffer and firmer than stock but my no means harsh or bone jaring even on bad bumps. It still seems to soak up the impact well. The only place I notice room for improvement is that there rebound is not as controlled as I would like. (The upward buck after you hit a bump)
The install went easily with the only holdup being that I needed an impact to remove the nylon lock nut on the stock struts and shocks and again to install the new nylon lock nut on the KYB struts and shocks. My big gripe about the KYB's is that in the directions it says not to use an impact to install the nylon lock nuts and you can not get the new nylon lock nut they included on far enough to hold the spot designed to keep the rod from turning without using an impact. The only other option is to not use a lockut. This issue frustraed me till I just said f@#$ it and blasted the nylon lock nuts they included on the front struts with an impact. The rears I found a nut the same thread that was not a lock nut and installed it by hand. What has evryone else done?

It takes corners much better now. There is alot less body roll and it does not rock back as much take off quick. It just feels much more sporty all around now.

the nylon nut is
you shouldnt need an impact gun though. ive done several suspension and never needed 1
Looks good Wade. I have the exact same setup as you, and absolutely love them.
Car is for Sale!Supercharger kit is for sale!
exact setup as me, I love it, I just need to screw my sub box in until I can build my corner boxes I want(and put some grills over the subs so I don't trash them) and empty my trunk and I can drive like a mad man again.
I love the look of the prokit, now I want a rear sway bar to reduce more of the roll
Steve
Don't forget strut bars either. I've got the rear sway bar and front and rear sway bars now and like the way the car has already improved from those. I'm waiting for my agx's to arrive and a few months down the road i'll be ordering the pro-kit and come around spring/summer they will be installed and hopefully rear dics from the neon swap. And the new strut mounts that are in the makes

Is the pro kit a 1.4" drop? Thats what im looking for but I think I might go with the tokico HP setup. Looks awesome though.
red rider-
I do have the strut bars, I have put the one up front in allready, just haven't put the rear one in, does it make a big difference with just the rear strut tower bar?
chris
that is what it is rated for, but I think that the rear dropped a little more, could be added weight from crap in my trunk, but now it looks nice and level, even better than I thought it would look
Steve
Yea if makes a difference b/c at one time i had just the gm strut bar up front then I got on the GP for the vibrant strut bars and it could easily tell the difference, the rear doesn't seem to twist as much going around corners.

Last winter the a truck that was beside me and just infront dropped a giant ice chunk. I did not have time to react and would up hitting it. I am still looking for one to replace it.

I keep watching it to see if it sits any lower and have not noticed it sitting any lower. I will take some pics in a few weeks and if there is a difference I will post but I doubt there will be.

Looks good.
I had to use an impact to get the lock nuts to go down on my KYBs, otherwise the strut would just turn with the bolt.
