how do I get into the SCCA anyway? like what do I do to get a license and all that... I'd really like to try some autocross events out....

For events like these you just have to show up & register. You're required to have a helmet, many times there's a few loaners around. Usually they want you to help out too, the people that participate help to run it, as in keeping track of times and watching cones and things. I haven't done it myself, but i've gone to watch a few times. The people there have always been really helpful & nice about explaining everything.

I went to the SCCA site and they have videos of AutoX events IN the rain (showed at wet track and people under an umbrella), so don't worry about asking. It looks as if they run regardless of weather.

Yeah we do! If it ain't rainin', we ain't racin'! Alot of us hardcore guys even have rain tires just for rainy days.
Yeah... just got the reply and he said they run in the rain. I seem to remember a day last year in Hershey that was overcast and it had rained earlier, but i haven't seen it full out rained on...yet!
