Someone over here decided to get married that day, so the majority of the West MI J's won't be making it
.
Hmm, Well I was excited until I heard about a wedding. Although I havent been Invited yet so I guess I can still go to the BBQ.
Go Go OG Traction!!
Last year I also had to attend a wedding on the same day, I made it to both so no excuses.
I'll be there, for the whole event this time.

I'll be there... late as always.
same place as last year?
probably won't have the z anymore though, still a good time for sure.
booo for terrible parking areas and unpaved at that. Possibly be out there but prob wont drive the car. One questions, is there a reason its in the same spot every year?
I will most definitely be there again! Always a great time!!

A little something called tradition...
How do you figure terrible parking? We had plenty of cars there last year that didn't have any trouble at all parking. We got harassed by a cop at the beginning of the BBQ about parking on the grass, but he never came back and everyone parked on the grass anyway. Big deal.
I also think having an unpaved parking lot forces people not to be idiots when it comes to obeying the law and being reckless. Most people roll in going under 5mph, park, and then we have a wonderful time eating and enjoying the company of different cars.
Here's a pic of last year's BBQ:
If the camera were to have done a complete 180 degree turn, you would of seen that double the amount of cars in that picture were actually present at the BBQ. If you want to see more pics of the BBQ, hit up www.j-bom.com and go check out the 2005 gallery. Previous years are up there as well.

we should just start a caravan. get JBOC and the dayton crew to meet up with the columbus guys and go up from there.
screw that, and screw j-bom
I'll go, gotta make sure nothing else is going on that weekend, but otherwise I'll be there.
Anybody want to caravan from GR?

I think being the wedding is later in the day, I'm in it, and I got a 2-3 hour drive I'm @!#$! Have fun though, we're also missing the biggest local car show which is on the same day, kinda upsetting as that's a great time to check out other local cars, and display ours to them.
Don't worry OG Nick, I don't think Nick has called anybody beyond people in the wedding, but he'll for sure be calling you for an invite, and I'll make sure of that now

im not saying its a bad spot i just thought that most people with expensive wheels, expensive kits, expensive paint work blah blah would be more cautious and would want to park in an area where their cars can sit flat on pavement. If its about tradition i understand completley, not sure how many times its been there but if thats what its about its cool. Jud, Barnes and I were the 3rd, 4th and 5th people there so i got a chance to see everyone roll in as well as park where they pleased, and after i watched Ian plow is front end into the ground trying to park on an un-leval surface i said theres no way im bringin my car here because my kit would have cracked if that was me. About the dirt being a good idea for people who are reckless. I think people in JBOM are respectfull enough to eachother to not to pull any crap is how i look at it. Yes when you get a bunch of strangers together people always try to show off but i dont think thats the case with JBOM at all. Finally im not sure how big turnouts usually are but it seemed to be getting a little crowded last year with just one strip down the middle for people to park on left and right as well as places under the pavilion. I spent most time sitting with joe, his gf, and nik on a dirt hill right in front of where he had to park.
and a nostalgic pic just for JoeDM
OneBadZ24,
So you're saying you don't know the limits of your car and you can't park it properly? That's cool. That's a valid excuse for not bringing your car to the BBQ if you know you're going to destroy it.
Note to everyone, if you don't know how to park a car and you have no clue what the limits of angled grades are with your drop, I'd advise against showing up because you'll probably break something
For the most part, I'm being serious and I'm definitely not trying to rag on you at all OneBadZ24. Driving a car that's aesthetically modified in the way your car is comes with the responsibility of knowing how to drive it. If you know your limits, cool. More power to you to prevent a bad thing from happening.
Then again, there is no excuse for you showing up as the 5th or so person like you did last year and finding a spot where you ARE within your car's limits....
