Does anyone know if this setup will work? I had properly installed the manifold, mounted the throttle body, and went to put on my AEM CAI back on and it is not enough clearance between the front body and the throttle body.
PS. Sorry for @!#$ty pics...
Suggestions?

I'm going to try this next day...
but before I do, does anyone know if there is enough clearance to take a rubber 90 off my TB and bring it over my throttle cable / box?

It works, I had a AEM Intake for a while....you just kinda have to jam it in there.
Drop the intake pipe between the manifold and the upper rad support first, then rotate it so it fits over the TB.
I actually even trimmed some of the plastic (about 1/8th) off the bottom of the intake where it goes over the TB so that it would fit on a bit better.
Never had an issue with the set-up after running it for a year on the street/drag-strip, however I do have full engine and trans mounts, so the motor doesn't move at all.
Good Luck!

so you used the same setup as me and it fit???
an AEM CAI? or AEM WAI

Yup exact same setup, 2.4 (LE5) intake manifold and AEM CAI.
Just jam the pipe between the upper rad support and the TB, then rotate it over the TB, it works. My buddy had the exact same setup and it worked on his as well.
We didn't even have to trim any material off his.
And he didn't have a sunfire, did he?
It just seems like there's NO clearance there...
If I remember correctly, I needed about 3" width and only had at best 2.5"
I know the sunfires have a bit more clearance and can swap this in no problemo

No he had a 04' Cavalier.
Shouldn't matter tho, Sunfires and Cavaliers use identical upper rad supports, that is why the front ends are swappable.
Just get jam it in there, once it goes in it sits almost under the lip of the upper rad support, so its not squishing it.
well now that i know it has been done... I will try harder
and just pray my intake piping doesn't crack from the pressure
w00t a job for monday!!!!

forgot to mention however... now my engine is throwing p0302 which is cyl misfire #2...
I expected a similar code with my camshafts... should I worry, or could it just be finally all the intake mods are catching up with me and just wait for my tune on weds?

have you tuned since the cam install? also tuning is pretty much supposed to be done right after installing the 2.4 mani.
No I have yet to have any tuning done.
I have an appointment for tuning on weds, and driving as little, and as gentle as possible till then
I also keep clearing my code with my OBDII reader as I heard that the misfire code will put my engine in "limp" mode
On another note... I have to change location of my Brake booster, and the tubing supplied does not hold up to vacuum pressure and "pinches" together...
should this worry me? Brakes seem to be working perfectly fine

you may want to pm newt or someone else that has done the manifold swap for info on the brake lines.
as far as your other question, that is definately the car's problem. no tuning with a much higher flowing intake manifold, and aftermarket cam's=fail.
Agreed! I'll post back on if that fixes the code problem, as well as performance increase.
However, tuner had to postpone till sat

i'd probly drive the car as little as possible. have you put in larger injectors or are you on stockers?
Glad you got it in.
Brake booster hose should hold up fine, if its the one you got in the CED kit, as its the stock brake booster hose for a 2.4 cobalt. Might wanna check that its not getting pinched by something else.
Misfire code seems kinda weird, mine threw the multiple cylinder misfire code, not to say that its bad yours is throwing that one, just double check everything was reinstalled properly.
Also, if you are on stock injectors I doubt they will flow enough, its worth a shot tho....my buddies car was tuned with the 2.4 mani on stock injectors and his IDC was just under 80% I think. Your tuner will be able to tell you if you need larger injectors...or at least he should....or else I would find a new tuner...lol
Any other questions fire me a PM.
Yea I currently am running stock injectors, but have GreenTop Cobalt SC injectors to go in just before my tune (tuner installing)
And I am only driving my car as little as possible ftm, and laying into it as little as possible so I hope I'll last till saturday
Just for the record... What is IDC and why should I be worried about it? :p

Also...
For anyone who has done this... Do you have a problem with sealing below the TB? I have 1 cork gasket on the tb side, and it's leaking below so i'm going to go and put a second cork seal to the adapter plate / manifold
suggestions?

AND!!!
With my tune... i'm thinking raising the redline to 7100... stock valve springs / lifters
i've heard people say it CAN be done... but has anyone actually done it with success?

When I got my gasket I went to o relieys and got the fel pro gaskets you cut I used the rubber/fiber one and zero leaks. Man i'm glad you made this post lol I couldn't get my aem piece on either looks like fun this weekend lol. And you will be fine with 7000 or 7100 on stock cams and valve train. Also newt when I data logged my 02 I hit 75% idc at wot just a FYI. I plan on swapping to my 36# Saab green tops here very soon but I still haven't tuned the car yet. But at wot i see what everyone says about it leaning out I go from 10-11:1 afr to just over 13 at stock rev limit.
Glad I could help
Thing to note... put the manifold, then intake pipe, THEN the TB
twist and turn and away you go
LOVE the new vacuum sound btw
