Hello everyone I race a 1995 chevy Cavalier on a half mile asphalt speedway In the hornet division. The car is pretty descent itself its handles very well and the motor never never lets me down runs to a true and its looks dam good
. I can smoke mustangs,golfs,civics, and mazda's but im having trouble catching the fast guys with the ford escort gt's preludes and jettas
. I have looked into a chip,gears,throttle bodie spacer, but I cant seem to find one for that car!!!!!????!!!. So please J bodie community can you please help me out and give me ideas to go faster im willing to do anything except for a z24 swap or anything because I am young and dont have much money. So yah if u could send me link to products or give me ideas or see If i can get a chip for that car that would be wonderful!!!!!

wow awesome double post in two different sections.
solid oval can be tricky, as too much torque creates understeer. too much top end will have you bogging after youve slowed down before either bank and are accelerating out the other side. id try and get as many cfms through the motor as possible, what are your class restrictions/degree of the banks in and out of the turns/any bank on the straights?

And I race a manual and 3rd gear with big tires still rev limited way to quick so I went to 4th with 195/55/R15's but its such a high gear for that track so its not pulling nearly hard enough because i loose all the rev's through the corners and I have to make them up on the straight so I need more power and yes and car is one of the best handling out there.

It says skys the limit for your motor just no turbos or super chargers and you must have stock suspension. And sorry I am new here just joined today.

My first question would be what are your current mods?
If you dont have the basic bolt ons id start there.
Yes I have a cold air intake,straight piped and lexan windshield. Any other easy bolt ons? I would like it get a header but im not sure how much they really help because its not a high compression motor.

they will allow you to have all the power n/a you can get but absolutely zero suspension mods? wtf?

This is what is says Stock carburetor or fuel injection for that year, make and model of car. Must be equipped with an enclosed are cleaner/filter assembly. No turbo or superchargers. No cold air intake systems. lol but its not high end racing at all its a cheap class entry level racing it only cost me a grand to get into it dont think its high horse power cars with stock suspension all the cars only have 120-220 horse and im still alive

I assume you've also freed up restriction, catalytic converter....and you might be able to get a fuel pressure riser, no experience with one, but rksport claims gains.
And no suspension mods, can you atleast use braces?
Yes I have freed up the restriction theres no cat or muffler. And thanks ill look into the fuel pressure riser
. and heres exactly what the rules say Maximum four cylinder car (excluding convertibles, 4 wheel drives) with a complete (no missing fenders, bumpers, etc.) stock steel body, interior, frame and suspension. No bracing anywhere except the drivers compartment. P.S. do you have a link for a fuel pressure riser?

not safely without doing a sc/tc which you already said you can't do,the one's i listed are the basics of an n/a engine,and they're gonna cost you along with a tune,i'm sure some more experienced members will shed some light on this at some point or another but those are basics for just about any engine,there's plenty more you can do but if you have none of this done already i would look in that general direction.
All the glass is gone interior head lights and metal ribing under the hood truck and doors.
