Some performance shop out by me that I never heard of was having an open house/BBQ.... I'm not one to pass up free food and cars

anyways, it was mostly Honda, all imports but there was a car in the shop that they were working that was a real eye catcher. I took some pics that people might find informative. I've seen people posting asking about engine bay wire tucks... heres some ideas to steal if you really want to go at it.
Battery in the fender/bumper, battery cable inside the frame rail going inside the car to the fuse block inside the passenger compartment, engine wiring harness was wrapped and slid in right along the shifter cables to keep it low key and then to a black metal bracket contoured to fit the shape of the trans where it bolts to the engine hiding all the wires (not sure if its a functional motor mount related bracket or just made to hide wires but either way it was really slick looking) the coils were mounted to a form fitted copper plate that supplied the ground rather then having a ground wire off each coil. Not sure if its coincidence or if they planned it when doing the ITB but they made it so the injectors mount on the bottom of the manifold which means no wires going up top. All the attention to detail matched with CF velocity stacks on each TB, a shaved engine bay and a color matched valve cover and the engine bay came out @!#$ awesome!
anyways pics..
and again... I realize its not a J-body, you can apply the same general ideas to anything....
hotness. def what i'm goin after in the skwirl
has anyone made ITB's for the ole Ecotec?
Speed is relative. But the feeling is absolute.
nice setup. I helped a buddy put a supercharger on one of those engines last weekend. The setup is no where near that clean tho.
that thing would be so incredibly easy to work on its not funny...
and wow hondas have TINY radiators.
upon closer review im not so sure this IS a honda, the intake and exhaust sides are backwards, just like our cars. every honda ive ever seen has always had the exhaust up front...
so ryan, what is this car?

its a civic hatch with what appears to be a K20 swap (look at the dipstick, thats an RSX motor)
Thats Badass!!!. Definitely something thats on my list. Yep thats a K series motor. There really isnt anyone doing B series swaps anymore.
yeah ok.. thats right. i guess i have seen rsx's and the engine is just like that.
so is it a DOHC engine? im assuming so but the the cover on top looks really small to have two cams under there...
^^^ Yours is already one of the cleanest engine bays on here! LOL. Come one man let me catch upto where you are now. HAHAHAHAHAHA
That is freaking clean.
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
I see wires
I think something should have been done with the rad support and possibly the firewall, but extremely clean setup none the less

Now with northstar V8, IRS, 20's n 22's
the battery in the front bumper is pretty neat.
Doin this as we speak kinda while the engine is out.. A little complicated seeing how the wiring is mostly on the drivers side of our J's... Thats some clean ish righ thurrr..

Oh i didnt notice

Yes i realize those wires will be hidden too, that would be what the

was for
But the engine bay is already painted so i'm almost positive they wont be getting into more bodywork there.

so what were you suggesting be done with the firewall and rad support?
who cares, this has nothing to do with the firewall or radiator support or hell even the car....
all its supposed to be is food for thought and some ideas for those who finally give it a try.
I wish I had a car to give it a try on, go at my own pace and see what I can come up with
Only problem I'm seing with doing htis to a eco is how the IDI is connected. With out some sort of cover gonna be tough to hide the wires going into the connector HMMMMM
MY BUDDY HAS A D16 IN HIS CRX AND HE BEATS B SERIES ENGINES ALL DAY LONG! BUT IT ALSO HELPS THAT HE IS RUNNING 22 PSI AND IS PUSHING 400+ HP!
before this gets out of hand please stop talking for your buddies single slammer... we don't need more debating on here, the topic was to give us J's a look at some cleanliness
