Here is the jist of it. Ive had my MSD coils for a couple months now. Yesterday is the first time I have had to actually try and fab up a bracket to get them mounted and installed.
After a couple hours of fussing. I finally came up with something, but it looked like a$$, and I dont do a$$, it wasnt strong enough as well so I scrapped the project. So why I'm posting this thread for is what proper brackets to use so that I can grab them from the wreckers. I want to make it look as clean as possible. So here are my questions.
1.)What is the cruise control bracket that mounts to the strut tower? What year/make/model is it off of. (part# if possible) for pass side strut tower
2.)What year/make/model is the coil pack bracket off of to mount my MSD coils to. (part# if possible)
Also I would like to see some pictures of these two brackets in action. How there mounted together etc etc. I've seen lots of pictures of custom brackets and msd installs but I have decided this setup would be the cleanest looking and strongest.

Wouldn't it be a vert part as the cruise cannot mount to the firewall traditionally due to the GM strut bar?

That should say DRIVERS SIDE Strut tower for the cruise bracket. My mistake

I just took the whole thing off the 2.2 when I did mine. I ended up just screwing it down under my intake filter...

What im looking for is the coil bracket to mount my MS coils to. Then the bracket to mount the coils to the strut tower to the cruise bracket.
give me a little bit i will grab a picture of the bracket adn try to see if there is a gm part number one it..i know what you are speaking of..

I tried looking for the part number but it is not stamped on it. I believe the bracket came off a 2000 ish 2.2. I will double check gmpd and see if i can find the number on there, but here are a couple pics i think you were asking for.

ok found the part number... It is 22678081 and it is about $19 bucks shipped from GM Parts Direct. I hope this helps you guys out.

Your pictures dont work. so if that part number is the coil bracket. What is the part number for the cruise/strut tower bracket.
My bad pictures do work. Stupid work firewall was blocking photobucket. So that bracket looks like the strut tower bracket. perfect now just need the bracket for the coils.

I stopped by my local dealership today and ordered this bracket and a new sunroof switch. I will let everyone know what comes in

Hmm, I think Ill pick up that bracket. My coils/icm bracket are held on by the power steering bolt lol, looks ok but Id like something more solid.
Thanks MyZcar for the pic's of the bracket. Now we need to find out the part number for the coil bracket. I NEED TO GET MY MSD IN......................

Just from looking at the pics, it looks like it is made for the passenger side strut tower. You may have to drill another hole in it to use it on the drivers side so it doesn't hit the brake booster
I called the dealership this morning and they think it should be in tomorrow
