PM me an email, I will send you the diagram from the MSD coil conversion thread. MSd has the wiring diagram for the DIS II on their website.

I think the part numbers might be wrong (possably outdated), but you can wire LN2 MSD coils to the LD9 easy....

What he meant is that you can't wire the 6A box to make it work on our car.

The coil are really easy to plug tough.

That's how I did mine, except I also added a Painless Wiring Weather Pak Plug (p/n 70403) between the ICM Plug harness and the MSD Coils. Now I can change/remove the coils without re-wiring the whole harness. The weather pak plug kit was a $14.00, one day special order at Autozone.

I was trying to find a set of MSD's a few weeks ago and nobody can seem to get me any.... I can't even find out how much it will cost to convert.... man that pisses me off. People around here are retards..... where are you guys getting your LN2 MSD coils from anyway?

I bought all my MSD stuff online (coils, interface modules, and universal 8.5mm wire set) from Summit Racing because of their awesome return policy.
Wire, loom, tape, and weather pak plug from Autozone.
White soft plastic cutting board (to make a non-conductive base plate) from target.
Stainess mounting bolts from Lowes.

Costs:

8224 Coils - $46 each
8870 Module - $32 each
8.5mm spark wire set - $79
Weather Pak plug - $14
Base Plate Board - $3
Wire, Loom, Tape, & Bolts - $20

Coil swap

Here's my setup. It's working fine like this. Stock 91 2.2 coils with Bosh wires.

i get the diagram and the prices you guys are great honestly, but the icm plug were does it come from and were does it connect to

The ICM plug is the one that's on the car already.

So to be safe you may want to source (pocket) one from a junkyard.

Once you take apart the coil cover, you'll see the ICM plug running between the ICM and the coil packs. You then cut off the connector on the coil side and splice in the wiring harness to the MSD coils. That's why I used a weather pak plug for a good connection and for the above recommendation to pick up an extra ICM plug at a junk yard or GM parts. It gives you the option to return everything to stock.

Weebel posted those in reply to others posts when the original post said this...

I took his post to meant he wants to run MSD coils and a 6AL box.
Which, like the original answers said, he can't. This is because a 6AL can only run one coil and our cars use 2 coils. If a single MSD box is wanted, a DIS2 is needed. It would be odd, but you could possibly run two 6AL boxes.

But there is no requirement to use any MSD box to run only the coils, as the diagrams (pictures) show.

I've got the accel coils. they are easy to get online, and you can even buy them at advance auto. or is there something wrong with them that everyone would rather have the MSD ones? If there is I would like to know, my car is running good with the accels.
