As far as bolt-ons go you can do pullies and A/C delete. If it is a 5 speed you can get a lightened flywheel and stronger clamping clutch. Solid engine mounts, solid tranny mounts. Of course none of these will give you more HP but they will all help you put more of it to the wheels.
You could port match your intake mani to the head since it is plastic. Take your time and use a dremmel. Anything to increase airflow in and out of the head.
If you spend the money and get the head all done up... performance valve train, cams, Port and Polish, Valve job you can get really close to 200hp.

engines are engines. been the same since the beginning.
all the same principals at work.
port the head, get bigger cams, raise compression, lower compression for a turbo, or throw nitrous at it.
naturally aspirated smaller engines won't yield as much per mod. heavy emphasis on a multitude of parts working together for nice gains.
unfortunately if you want any significant difference you're going to be changing cams at the very minimum. if you can get the head ported and the valvetrain upgraded as well that'll help even more.
invest in a wideband air/fuel ratio device such as the innovated LM-1 or the LC-1 (there's a group purchase going on in the Group Purchase forum) and get yourself a decent tuning setup either with HPTuners or some other form of stand alone ECU (like Megasquirt, Spectre EMS, TEC3, F.A.S.T., MoTeC, etc etc) to control the engine properly and set the proper AFR and spark advances/ retards
HPT is great software for the beginner tuner but is limited by the Jbody's crappy ECU (not HPTs fault.. its GMs)
I STRONGLY advise getting the Enhanced Input/Output setup the regular version isn't worth its weight in poop.
but if you want big horsepower I don't think HPT will be able to help you much
true pj, and your a great example of being able to go fast in one of these cars with little horsepower...
IMO the whp/wtq numbers should'nt matter-its basically to know what your putting down and for bragging rights, nothing more. the goal should be if your wanting to go fast to put as much of that power you have to the ground as possible.
even n/a cars benefit from stickier tires. i only wish i could have tried them on my 97z before when i was running it at the track every weekend. in terms of 1/4 times it was a slow turd, but it did rather well on the dyno.
remember, if you cant stick it, then slick it
how do you go about ( clearing the pcm ) can you do a memory wipe on a stock 97 pcm . any one understand what im getting at .

this has been answered before in your other posts.
disconnect the battery. go inside watch some tv. reconnect the battery after 30 minutes (or any extended period of time). done.
i'm not sure why you keep asking.. pcm's don't get dirty on the inside.. clearing the adaptive tables and resetting the internal memory won't make it run better.
