do i need a fpl for sure and can i use the cams and the manifold well i think ishould be able to use the mani but what about the cams
its not going to hurt my motor is it

and i was reading some post about this and they were saying that i cant use the ho cams does that mean i have to use my stock cams from my ld9
jsut trying to get the facts straight because i can get a 2.3 l ho for about 100 bucks bottom end is gone

Do a search for 086 and there are a LOOOOT of posts about this and many answers. But yes modify the water passages to the 2.4 gasket use the HO intake and exhaust manifold and you wont have many problems other than slight fitment issues like throttle cables and such.

The only thing that isn clear in all the posts that I have read is that the HO cams wont have valve clearence on the 2.4. You could use the LO intake cam and the HO exhaust cam with that head. Or you could keep your stock cams but obviously going from 189@50 Dur .345 lift to 200@50 dur and .375 lift on the intake cam and 198@50 dur .354 lift to 212@50 dur .410 lift for the exhaust cam is bound to make a power difference. Since higher flowing heads make higher rpm horsepower and higher duration cams also make higher rpm horsepower. You might make peak power below the heads potential with the stock cams. As far as power from this swap the ports are larger than a 2.4 head fully ported supposedly and your compression will jump 2 points High octane IS A MUST so it should make a noticeable difference..
