ARP head studs for the 2200
Monday, September 18, 2006 7:46 AM
Wheres the cheapest place to get some arp head studs for the 2200. The only place that I can find that carries them is jbodyperformance, if my memory serves me right I remember that j-tuners use to sell them but now they hardly carry anything.

WHO DELETED THE STICKY?!?! (stupid mods got no love for the LN2s)

here are the part#s:

For the head studs the final part numbers are:

5 x ATP4.510L M11x1.5 STUD x 4.510"
5 x ATP5.950-1 Custom M11x1.5 STUD
10 x APN12-2 12 Point Nuts
10 x APW1316N Washers

For the Main Studs the Final Part numbers are:

10 x ATP4.400-1LB M11x1.5 & 7/16-20 STUD
10 x APN12-1 7/16-20 12PT Nut
10 x ARW1316 Washer 7/16ID 13/16OD Chamfer

I believe 5 of the headstuds are custom made, but they should still be able to make them for you

No way is it going to cost $1,000 you must have talked to someone that didn't know what you were talking about. Those are regular arp stud part numbers. I ordered two of the shorter ones just last week, and it was like $6 for each one. My point is, it's not going to cost $1,000 and going with anyone other then arp for head bolts is just not wise. They are the best in the business for making strong bolts. So, go with them.

wouldn't you be able to use a different length than the 5.95? something a little bit longer or shorter

flatlander / importperformanceparts sell the arp head studs

just make sure on instalation, you leave enought thread for the alternator bracket to mount on the top! do a dry fit before torquing down, make sure the bracket and nut will fit on top of the head studs.

I think it says on there you have to cut them to length. and if you order them from arp then i think there only like 117 vs 230

yes, it is cheaper to get them directly from ARP, so long as you talk to a compitent sales rep.

JBP also sells the studs, but direct is still cheaper.

The alt bracket should not be a huge issue, since most people chop that part off to fit a larger downpipe. You SHOULD have enough to bite the alt braket down with anyways.
What is everyone torquing these to, and with what lube on them?
