has anyone seen this yet?? I really don't want to go through the 2.3L swap. My luck something will go wrong and I will lose the motor lol. Its not too expensive, I thought about doing this and using a Melling Oil Pump. Im going to have them do the Lightening/Knife-Edge Service on my crank and was going to try this too. any coments?? heres a link.

is there any other options for the 2.4 oiling system?? I just want to make sure everything is nicely oiled when I go for the 300 mark.

The reason for doing the 2.3 swap is to improve the oil pump, removing the balance shafts is just a bonus in the process.

The 2.4 sucks at high rpm.
The 2.4 pump is a Melling pump from the factory.
Melling does not make a High Volume (flow) 2.4 pump. Nor does anyone else no matter what they claim.
JBP may sell High Pressure version of the pump. This is the same pump with a washer or 2 placed over the relief spring to increase its tension. This increases output pressure, but not high RPM volume. Lack of volume is the problem that needs to be corrected.

^^See, I would love to but what in the world would I tell the machinist, that I want the 2.3 oil pump conversion? Wouldnt I have to tell him step by step instructions on how to do this? Or would he just look up the specs on a 2.3 motor and do that to my 2.4?

I dont even know if all of those part#'s are correct on page 2 in the faq's lol

ok, since im a complete idion on the 2.4 are jbp just removing the balance shafts in essence? and if the are cant you just cut them out?

For the DSM all i had to do was take them out, turn the bearings to block the oil, intall a stub whaft on the oil pump and plug off the other hole for one with a cap. Is that like the ecos?

Is the 2.4 designed to where you still need them to run and cant just remove them?
Please give me some info, im curious on this now.

Is it pretty accurate?? about how much did this people money wise with parts?? Im buying a spare block soon to do first. Im off to do some more searching. Thanks.
