on 95 2.2ohv, whole assembly coming out, pump is leaking and pulley is wobbling, i heard its like 3 or 4 bolts, but idk where any of them are, also when searching for a new one, i came across elbow return tube and straight return tube, how do i know which i have?
any pics or really detailed wording how to get this thing off? please and thanks
Elbow three bolts u have to turn the holes in the pulley to see the bolts thru holes and one on the other side got a pump and pulley and line for sale for that motor pm me
for how much? ive got someone selling the whole assembly for 50, reservoir with the pump and pulley all together, and just take those 4 bolts out, disconnect the lines and it comes right off? how did u know it was an elbow?
double bump ughh how to know id its elbow or straight return tube?
step 1: get flashlight
step 2: inside car, pull handle to pop hood
step 3: open hood.. this is tricky because there's a secret lever you have to push in order to get the hood to open.
step 4: keep hood open with prop rod
step 5: locate power steering pump. I think its the one that has the cap on it that says "POWER STEERING FLUID" but don't quote me on this.
step 6: turn on flashlight
step 7: aim at power steering pump
step 8: LOOK
step 9: determine if you have a straight return or an elbow return. straight returns are straight. elbow returns have a bend in them.
step 10: stop bumping and cross posting threads for something that can be solved in 2 minutes by looking at your car.
that was all obvious to me but to be honest...idk which one is the return
well i'll give you a hint.. think of it like a game.
high pressure means it needs a tighter connection.
the lower pressure side is gonna have a weaker connection.
one of the connections on the pump is a threaded fitting, the other is slip-fit with a hose clamp.
which do you think is which?
maybe if i looked at it right now id be able to see but its too dark and cold out now......so its the rubber one with the hose clamp? but its a rubber hose, rubber hose is bendable, whys it matter if the part it connects to is striaght or elbowed? there are only 2 hoses or how many things connected to it?
there are only two hoses, but the style of return is probably so it doesn't interfere with other things on the engine.
i'll throw you a bone, I'm pretty sure the pump you want is the elbow one but I haven't had a 2200 in a very long time.
i have 2.2 not 2200 but thanks, ill check it out tomorow
